The Save Moms and Babies Act

The Save Moms and Babies Act

My Friends,
I would like to begin with a quick correction. An error occurred in sending out the last newsletter which resulted in only half of the newsletter being sent out. The topic was the excellent Summit of Grace event, which deals with the abortion recovery ministry.
Abortion recovery is one of the most critical elements of the pro-life cause, and we are proud to support it however we can. You can find the full text of the Summit of Grace newsletter here. Thank you for your patience and apologies for the inconvenience.
Save Moms and Babies
The topic of this email is the “Save Moms and Babies Act,” which aims to prevent the abortion lobby from lifting the FDA’s safety regulations on dangerous abortion pills. You can hear more specifics from Jamie Dangers of the Susan B. Anthony List below, from the attached flyer, and from the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC link here).
Before we let Jamie Dangers explain the situation, I’d like to give this context: the Susan B. Anthony List is organizing a Twitter campaign tomorrow to raise awareness of the dangers of the abortion pill and to put pressure on policy-makers to make the right decision. However, I’d be willing to bet that many of you (like me) don’t use Twitter.
That’s okay, because you can still help this campaign by spreading awareness in other ways, like sharing this email with your friends, contacting your Congressional members and Senators via one of the methods found here (select ‘Congressional’ when using the District Finder), or posting on Facebook. Of particular note for us Washingtonians, Patty Murry quite visibly opposed the “Save Moms and Babies Act.”
With that settled, let’s hear from Jamie Dangers:
Good evening!
As you may know, at the urging of pro-abortion forces, courts are moving to lift restrictions on chemical abortion, using the pandemic as a smoke screen to push for abortion through the mail. The Trump administration has petitioned the US Supreme Court to uphold the FDA’s safety regulations (REMS) that are in place because of the known risks to women and girls as a result of taking abortion drugs.
Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith and Congressman Bob Latta are the authors of the SAVE Moms and Babies Act (S. 3072H.R. 4399), which would uphold the FDA regulations, and prevent the abortion drug from becoming available through the mail or via telemedicine. Chemical abortion has much higher rates of serious complications than surgical abortion does, but the abortion movement is trying to make these pills available to anyone without supervision or medical care. This is the height of irresponsibility.
This afternoon, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith requested unanimous consent for the consideration of the SAVE Moms and Babies Act. Pro-abortion Democrats objected. Instead of choosing to protect women and girls, pro-abortion members of Congress chose greater access to abortion.
Please consider joining us and Congressional offices in highlighting this issue – what chemical abortion is, how it harms women, why the FDA restrictions on abortion drugs are necessary to protect women. Join us for a tweetstorm tomorrow afternoon as we raise awareness of this critical issue, and push for support for the SAVE Moms and Babies Act. There are sample tweets below. Tweet and retweet these or others on Wednesday afternoon!
