A Hazard to Women’s Health (And What You Can Do)

A Hazard to Women’s Health (And What You Can Do)

Dear Friends,
I’d like to quickly inform you of an urgent, life-saving call to action. First, some background. We all agree that women deserve access to medical care that will protect their health and wellbeing. It goes without saying that procedures which would unnecessarily risk their lives are unethical.
Problem
Unfortunately, millions of women may be at risk from unsupervised administration of the drug Mifeprex – the drug used in chemical abortions. Though increasingly common, chemical abortions result in 4 times the serious health complications as surgical abortions. As many as 5 to 7% of women who use chemical abortions require follow-up surgery, and approximately 3% may require admittance to the ER. (Read more here).
By the way, those risks are as things stand with Mifeprex being used with supervision from people with medical training.  Unfortunately, there has been a major push from abortion on-demand proponents who want to lift FDA restrictions and allow Mifeprex to be simply shipped to women and used in the home without in-person attention from qualified medical professionals.
Putting aside the obvious danger to the pre-born persons endangered by the use of Mifeprex, the drug is incredibly dangerous to women, and will only become more dangerous if the FDA restrictions on its unsupervised use are lifted.
Solution
In order to protect women from the dangers of chemical abortions, LiveAction is gathering signatures to petition FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn that Mifeprex be properly classified according to the hazards it poses. You can read and sign the petition here and learn more about the issue here.
We believe that women facing unplanned pregnancies deserve innovative and lasting solutions that will truly help them.
